AZSA Drive By: Storage Corral and Their Holiday Food Drive

I had the pleasure of being in Sedona last week to check out possible venues for future AZSA events, and I couldn't resist stopping to say to hello to a new AZSA member: Storage Corral in Camp Verde. Jack Sheehan is the Owner/Operator and his managers are Melanie and Sean Heilbrun Walker, who are both brand new to self-storage.
It didn't take them long to get into the swing of things! The facility, office, bathroom, and parking lot are neat and clean, a tribute to the new managers. Melanie greeted me right away when I arrived.
The next thing I saw after her smiling face was the cheerfully wrapped box to collect food for Camp Verde Bread of Life Mission. Two days earlier, Melanie tuned in to the AZSA's Webinar by Sue Havliand: 'Tis the Season. Melanie immediately started implementing the Holiday Marketing suggestions:
- She connected with the Tourism Center (Camp Verdi's version of a Chamber of Commerce);
- She is bringing them facility brochures to display; and
- She found a local food drive and joined the cause for the holiday season, giving tenants a discount on their next month's rent for their contributions.
Something else evident during this AZSA Drive By: Melanie hates to miss a phone call, "That might be another rental" she said, or tenant or prospect who needs her. Kudos to Melanie, Sean, and Jack for putting their best foot forward.
Once again, Melanie proved what other managers demonstrate every day: you don't have to be a shiny, new storage resort to provide the service today's customers seek. This is something any store, of any age, in any condition, in any location can accomplish. It's the same top notch management and customer service demonstrated by StorQuest on 7th Street in Phoenix in last month's AZSA Drive By - and I look forward to seeing it in your facility too!
