Between July and September 2017 in the Phoenix metro area, 6 self-storage facilities were completed, 16 were under construction, and 52 were in the pipeline as planned or proposed. The 6 new stores comprise over 700,000 square feet and just under 4,000 units. The 17 in '17 have added over 1.6 million square feet and almost 12,000 units to the Phoenix MSA. The additional 16 under construction represent another 1.6 million square feet and over 8,700 units. The Phoenix market, like other major metropolitan areas in 2017, is on track to be the biggest year ever for new construction throughout the country.

This according to AZSA member Paul Boyle, of Cushman & Wakefield, in the Third Quarter 2017 Report, “Phoenix Completed, Planned, & Under Construction Self-Storage Development Study.” For more information, contact Paul at Paul.Boyle@cushwake.com or 602-224-4414.
