Carol Mixon

Carol Mixon is a well-known self-storage industry expert and owner of SkilCheck Services. She has been involved in the self-storage industry since 1984 and has extensive experience in training, education, operations, and customer service.
Carol previously worked as a corporate trainer for a large self-storage developer with 69 properties, where she trained more than 200 managers. She has written numerous articles on self-storage topics, including a quarterly newsletter focused on sales and customer service, and has years of experience as an educator at industry events.
On the national level, Carol has been active with the Self Storage Association since the mid-2000s. She served as President of the SSA's Western Region, as a Director on the SSA Board for more than 10 years, and on the SSA Executive Committee from 1998-2001. Carol also served on the Board of Directors for the California Self Storage Association.
A member of AZSA's Board of Directors since 2015, Carol uses her degree in secondary education to support AZSA's Education and Membership Committees. Through SkilCheck Services, she continues to help owner/operators understand the importance of strong customer service skills in the self-storage industry. Carol is always ready to share expert self-storage advice and support the industry she has served for decades.
