Why an Operations Manual Matters in Self-Storage

One of the primary reasons AZSA strongly encourages every store to have a training and procedures manual is to create consistency across all facilities. By ensuring that we all follow the same procedures, we aim to protect our members from potential litigation. This establishes a baseline standard for operations and fosters unity—when we all work together in the same way, we all benefit. Your Managers Can Watch or Read!
We divided the manual into eight sections and created training videos for each section. This was done because everyone has different learning styles. Some people prefer reading, while others learn better by watching videos. Often, as a manager, you might not have time to read the entire manual, but you can always have a video playing in the background. Therefore, in addition to the manual, we provide various ways for individuals to access the information and acquire knowledge.
